I don't think the addition the facilities you propose would be an undue burden on the existing water suply in the street. There is a large city main in front of the house ( 1211) with adequate pressure which will hardly be affected by you adding on consumption. However you may need a larger service into the house; from the street. I would suggest you check with the Water :dept. if this would be needed. If I can be of any furt er service contact me. My wife and I recently (2/6/85) purchased a piece of property located at 351 Bridge Street in Northampton. The property consists of a single family house, a large barn and 21 acres of land. The reason I am filing this application for Special Permit is to convert the seven room, single family house into two apartments, one six room and one four room, utilizing three empty rooms in the basement. The conversion will require the addition of one bathroom and one kitchen, both including appropriate plumbing. There will be no changes to the exterior of the house with the exception of perhaps some painting and storm windows added. I have included with the application a sketch of the property at 351 Bridge Street (Sheet No. 25A, Parcel No. 108 on the Assessors' baps) and sketches of the 1st and 2nd floors and basement of the house. Our conversion plans include the following: 1./ Convert "Bedroom" #3 on the 2nd Floor (Page 6) into a bathroom for "Apt. #1"; 2./ Convert the "Dining Room" on the 1st Floor (Page 7) into a kitchen for "Apt. #1"; and 3./ Convert the empty rooms in the Basement (Page 8) into two bedrooms and one living room for "Apt. #2". Abutters (see instructions; list on reverse side of form). 12. 1 hereby certify that information contained herein is true to the best of my knowledge Date February 19, 1985 applicant's Signature 1 DECISION OF ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS At a meeting held on April 24, 1985, the Zoning Board of Appeals of the City of Northampton voted unanimously to grant the Special Permit request of Michael Lyons, Stage Road, South Deerfield, Massachusetts to convert a single family dwelling into a two-family dwelling at 351 Bridle St_ reet, Northampton. Present and voting were: Chairman Robert —Buscher, William Brandt and Peter Laband. The findings were as follows: R. Buscher found that the use is listed in the Table of Use Regulation 3; that the requested use would bear a positive relationship to the public convenience as it will add to the housing stock in Northampton; that although Bridge Street is a heavily travelled street, there is area in the rear of the dwelling to allow for a turn-around so that the cars will j exit facing forward onto Bridge Street, and that an additional two vehicles will not create undue traffic congestion; that the dwelling is on public water and sewer systems and an additional unit will not create an undue burden on these systems; and that the requested use will not impair the integrity of the district, as there are numerous multifamily dwellings in the area, as well as recreational fairgrounds and an office building adjacent to the property.
