Contractor is tightening the A.S.T.M. A325 bolts by the "turn of the nut method" as outlined in the A.I.S.C. Standard which states attaining tight steel by initially tightening the connection to a snug tight position (ie: full effort of a man on a spud wrench or when impact wrench begins to impact) , then tightening an additional 1/3 turn. Inspector witnessed this procedure along lines F & G. Work is progressing on lines A to G, 6 to 11, procedures appear to be satisfactory. Bar joists are being assembled on the ground with bridging being welded to each joist then erected. Anchor bolts at column base plates were checked for tightness with loose bolts found at column J3 & 4. Inspector was notified that five columns need to be raised at E5 thru J5.
