b. Bruce asked if batt insulation could be used at eaves to stop blown in insulation.
He said it is Energy Crafted Home standard. This is okay with Laura as long as
it is firmly secured and that cellulose insulation cannot be blown past it into the
soffit.

THE CHILDREN'S HOUSE, a Montessori School
Jobsite Meeting: 24 July 1997
Present: Susan Swift; Jonathan Wright, Skip Valencik, Bruce Cleare; Laura Fitch.
Progress: Insulation in progress (energy inspection scheduled for this pm); windows installation
starting today; sheetrock delivery tomorrow (will be working Saturdays); tyvec installed; fire
alarms wired.
OLD BUSINESS:
1. Gas: not discussed.
2. Submittals:
a. Plumbing: Laura returned marked up sink cut. The access board regulations are
not well defined for "new" children's height, but she marked it up similar to adult
requirements. WB to confirm width of apron.
b. Trusses: Bruce gave Laura letter and copy of calculations showing that truss
joints and lower chord were designed to carry the point load of the door.
C. Electrical: Roger had marked up submittals with fixture counts. This was
forwarded to Buster.
d. Moveable partition: Bruce will check on delivery date. Susan asked why door
didn't open all the way to the wall. Laura said she kept door to even 4' panels
(standard) to keep the cost down.
e. Colors: Need laminate, paint, and vinyl base. There was some discussion about
whether to stick with the K•urfees brand specified. Laura is not adamant about it
as long as there will be nothing other than "touch-up" painting the week before
school starts. Painter will be starting Aug 7th. All paints are required to be "low
VOC" now, so it is more of an odor issue which usually dissipates within a few
days. Laura and Susan picked the following colors after the meeting:
1) Laminate:
Classrooms: Formica Berry Dust 2491
Science Counter top: wlsonart Graphite Nebula 4623
Library bookshelves& computer desk: Birch veneerplywood(not laminate)
2) Vinyl Base for sheet vinyl rooms: Johnsonite 59 Heather Green
3) Paint (Pittsburgh)
Halls: off`'white 2549 Ready Mix
Classrooms, Library, Office: Veil white 2613
Toilet Rooms: Alabaster 2547 Ready Mix
f. Cubby shop drawings: Bruce asked if they are required. Laura said that it is
their responsibility to meet intentions as drawn, therefore they are assuming some
risk if no shop drawings are submitted.
g. Outstanding submittals: Laura would like to see suspended ceiling.
