Re: Burts Pit Road Subdivision Proposal
Secondary to our discussion relative to the proposed condominium
development off of Burts pit Road, 1 am writing to inform you of the
outstanding fire protection issues. At a March 28, 2002 meeting Berkshire
Design presented a new plan that appears to be code compliant. This
represents a significant change from previous designs. Based on the new
design, I have raised the following concerns:
• Proposed hydrants are inadequate and not spaced in accordance
with NFPA recommendations.
• The water supply system must provide sufficient volume and
pressure to provide adequate fire flow in addition to residential
consumption.
• The turning radius on the interior of the housing clusters appears
to be inadequate for our largest piece of emergency apparatus.
I have asked Berkshire Design to address these issues and provide
Tony Patillo and I with a written response. Please contact me with any
questions.
