RE: 54 DEERFIELD DRIVE
Dear Mrs. Walsh:
As a result of a fire in your dwelling at 54 Deerfield Drive, (Assessors Map 36,
lot 29) Northampton, all utilities have been disconnected, resulting in the
dwelling being condemned and declared unfit for human habitation.
In addition, a very large accumulation of trash, refuse and garbage was found in
every room of the dwelling, the cellar, and the attached 2-car garage. The
accumulated trash, including several dead animals and the general insanitary
conditions found throughout the dwelling, violates Section 410.602C of 105 CMR,
The Minimum Standards of Fitness for Human Habitation, and also constitutes a
Public Health nuisance, which also renders the dwelling unfit for human
habitation.
Under authority of Chapter 111, Section 127 of the Massachusetts General Laws,
and Section 410.602(C) of 105 CMR, you are hereby ordered to:
1. Clean up and properly dispose of all of the accumulated rubbish,
garbage, and trash from the dwelling, cellar, and garage.
2. Clean the dwelling to eliminate all sources of filth, insect
infestation and/or sickness.
This clean-up work must be completed within fourteen (14) days of the receipt of
this notice.
Please be advised that your failure to clean the dwelling as ordered in the time
specified will result in the Board of Health formally voting to condemn your
dwelling and order it secured against entry.
Under no circumstances may the dwelling at 54 Deerfield Drive be reoccupied until
the clean-up work is completed and the Plumbing, Wiring, and Building Inspectors
have issued written approval._
