The i\Torthamnton k edevclonment Authority finds it necessary to
incorporate a minor plan change into the approved redevelo-oment plan
for the lorthamoton Industrial Park for the rourpose of clarifying
the degree to which the 'provision for -allowance of accessory uses
may be extended to include retail uses which are clearly a su'asidiary
part of ma.nuf acturing operations. The Authority has addpted a
resolution which says in -dart, "the use of a structure in Tart, for
retail, to further the on-site r•.ianuf actur_inch endeavor of the m-,-in
enterprise — . . is allowable, provided that in the opinion of the
Redevelopment authority such building utilization is a ( irect, related,
accessory use and su?Dorts other industry c✓ithin the Industrial Park
as well as aiding and abcttin:7 a viable corulunity at.nosphcre" .
`I �T�.W, seeks a resolution from the ".;oard suG�-�orting this
flexibility. It is my opinion that such flexibility is in keeping
with the purpose and intent of the zoning orcinance, in that many
manufacturing activities involve so-:ze for=m of retail outlet which is
entirely sup-portive of the manufacturing use, and therefore such a
use is accessory to the principal use of manufacturing.
