Re: Simon Ahtaridis, 16 High Meadow Rd,Florence, MA: Structural assessment of existing
roof to support proposed solar array.
On January 31,2014, I conducted a site visit during the panel installation to confirm that the
existing roof framing in the area of the installed PV panels,see the attached google earth image,
are adequate to support the installed arrays.The roof framing for the main array on the east facing
roof are 2x12's rafters at 24"on-center,spanning approximately 13' with a 9/12 pitch.The smaller
array on the south facing roof is constructed with roof trusses at 24"on-center,spanning 26' with
a 9/12 pitch.
The existing roof framing is adequate to support the installed PV arrays..
