Dear Mr. Yacuzzo:
The Northampton Board of Health has been asked to comment on the requirements for
the service of food and drink out-of-doors by licensed food service establishments.
The Board of Health has no objections to outdoor food service, provided that all
food and drink is pre2ared indoors in properly equipped and licensed facilities.
In addition, it is required that doors leading to outdoor food service area be kept
closed and have self-closing devices installed, however, when doors are to be kept
open for purposes of ventilation, the openings must be screened to prevent the entry
of insects.
