Dear Roland,
I have approved your building permit application for an addition to your existing attached
garage. The plans you have submitted do not show enough detail for me to determine whether the proposed construction will meet the requirements of the Massachusetts State Building Code.
The foundation proposed by Cotton Tree Service would meet code requirements but the framing and finish plans are less complete. I encourage you to submit plans showing the structure
in greater detail and also addressing fire protection and fire separation between the house and garage. If, when we inspect the addition, we determine that it does not meet code requirements
as built, you will have to make any corrections that are necessary for compliance.
