by law, 780 CMR State Building Code, to submit to the cities building official a affidavit that
certifies the structural adequacy and safety of these structures.
Please respond within 30 days upon receipt of this letter for a inspection for compliance with the
building code.

FIRE ESCAPES
3400.4.2.9 Testing and Certification. All
exterior bridges, steel or wooden stairways, fire
escapes and egress balconies and their
structural anchorage shall be examined and/or
tested, and certified for structural adequacy and
safety every five years, by a Massachusetts
registered professional engineer, or others
qualified and acceptable to the building
official; said engineer or others shall then
submit an affidavit to the building official.

Attention : This notice has been forwarded to
AnthonyPatillo me in Florida where my wife and I are vacationing
Building Commisnnt l the last of April - 2009. The entire premises
City of Northampton are presently empty - being checked daily by
our sons Daniel and Michael Willard. I do not
believe these premises require fire escapes.
The rooms on the third floor are for storage -
One to each tenant when they are occupied.
If you wish to examine these premises one of
our sons will be happy to accomodate your
inspector on request by your office.
