All exterior bridges, steel or wooden stairways, fire escapes and egress balconies and their structural anchorage shall be examined and/or tested, and certified for structural adequacy and safety every five years, by a Massachusetts registered professional engineer, or others qualified and acceptable to the building official; said engineer or others shall then submit an affidavit to the building official. The entire premises City of Northampton are presently empty - being checked daily by our sons Daniel and Michael Willard. I do not believe these premises require fire escapes. The rooms on the third floor are for storage - One to each tenant when they are occupied. If you wish to examine these premises one of our sons will be happy to accomodate your inspector on request by your office.
