RE LAND OR BUILDINGS IN NORTHAMPTON AT: One Short Street
ASSESSOR'S MAP and PARCEL NUMBERS: MAP: #32C PARCEL: 168
At a meeting conducted on August 12, 1999, the Northampton Zoning Board of Appeals
unanimously voted 3:0 to grant the request of Jordi Herold for a FINDING under the
provisions of Section 9.3(1)(D) in the Northampton Zoning Ordinance to change a pre-existing
non-conforming structure at 1 Short Street.
Zoning Board Members present and voting were: Vice Chair Larry Snyder and Associate
Members Bill Brandt and David Narkewicz.
The Findings of the Board under Section 9.3(1)(D) for an alteration of a Pre-existing non-
conforming structure were as follows:
1. The Board found that the alteration of the pre-existing nonconforming structure would
not be substantially more detrimental to the neighborhood than the existing non-
conforming structure, because the footprint of the building will not change, and a mature
row of arbor vitae which screen the property will be maintained.
2. The Board found that the alteration will not extend any closer to any front, side or rear
property boundary than the current zoning allows or existing structure already extends
and will not create any new violation of other zoning provisions; and does not involve a
sign.
No conditions were imposed with this Finding.
