Attached please find a mark-up sketch illustrating how the rebar is to be installed at the pier conditions
supporting the HSS columns. This sketch represents the locations where you observed minimal concrete
coverage on the bar. The solution involves a tighter hoop dimension on the #4’s that surround the anchor
bolts as well as a relocation of the #7’s that reinforce the pier itself. When implemented, this will solve
coverage concern and afford a minimum of 1 ½” of cover which is the coverage required at these
locations.
