Box headers should have jacks to increase structural integrity. Contractor's workmen concentrating on installation of steel to reinforce brick walls at new openings at kitchen and bar lounge area. Rough electrical, gas and plumbing nearly complete. Sprinkler crew approx. 30% complete. HVAC curbs mounted on banquet room roof, ductwork not started. Painters starting to prime wood to be painted. Observations: Met with Owen Lococo (Depot Assoc.) , John Brennan (engineer) , Tom Hill (GKRG) . John Brennan concerned that structural work at areas where brick walls are to be opened or removed is not according to his structural design. Contractor to submit plans of changes in structural steel substituted at openings for approval review by John Brennan. Purpose of this meeting was to review additional structural reinforcing or roof structure at banquet room area to support HVAC units and to bring structural up to Building Code requirements. John Brennan to submit design of roof structural redesign per request of Owen Lococo. Change from original design, one stairway to tunnel eliminated to increase banquet room kitchen services. Change of structural steel in kitchen area by contractor. Information or action required: Contractor to submit sketches and steel list of changes made in structural steel. J. One carpenter working at southerly, cooler frame wall, under existing shed roof. 4. One electrician, 60% complete on electrical roughing. 5. Three men installing sprinkler system. 6. Two men working (demolition) at kitchen area. Observations: 1 . Storefronts at banquet room, box headers now have jacks. 2. Frame wall, trackside to receive brick face, 2 x 4 wood studs, Plan A-4 and Detail 3-A21 indicate steel studs. 3. Existing wood ceiling at shed roof area has not been removed yet. Note: Existing wood ceiling should be removed to make installation of insulation easier. 4. Electrical rough complete through to service panel(s) tray(s). 5. Work done between May 1 and May 31, 1986: a. Demoltion: 90% complete. b. Surface cleaning: 100% complete. c. Concrete work: 100% complete. d. Interior masonry work: 50% complete. e. Structural steel: 90% complete. f. Carpentry work: Approximately 35% complete. g. Roofing: 90% complete. h. Painting and decorating: Previous application $3,700; work in place $14,130; percentage drawn to date: 62%. Owen Lococo is the contrac- tor for painting and decorating and has underbid cost. Payment can be approved as Owen Lococo will have to make up the difference. 2. Items not under GKRG's design contract: a. Contractor's fee: Previous application $8,850; work in place: $3,200. Approved percentage to date: 12%. b. Item 15, other (includes temporary telephone, electrical, sanitary facilities); approved percentage: 30%. c. Page 3, all items except architect's fees not under GKRG's design contract. Approved architect's fee percentage: 85%. 3. Owen Lococo has urgently requested that we supply him with a revised site utility plan as existing plan is in conflict with the city of Northampton's site utility plans. He would like this plan within two days as work is progressing very quickly at the city of Northampton's parking lot. 4.
