Manufacturer Design Basis: BJM pumps or approved equal complying with the requirements described herein and on the drawings. B. Submersible, Quick-Disconnect Sewage Pumps: Factory-assembled and -tested, duplex, single-stage, centrifugal, end-suction, submersible, direct-connected sewage pumps complying with UL 778 and with ANSI HI 1.1-1.2 and HI 1.3 for submersible sewage pumps and with SWPA's “Submersible Sewage Pumping Systems (SWPA) Handbook” for guide-rail supports. Pump size and design point is indicated on the drawings. Pump shall be capable of handling sewerage with a maximum temperature of 100° F and a pH range of 3 to 12. 1. Casing: Cast iron, with open inlet, legs (or guide-rail supports) that elevate pump to permit flow into impeller, and vertical discharge with companion flange for piping connection. 2. Impeller: ASTM A 48/A 48M, Class No. 30 or higher cast iron; statically and dynamically balanced, open or semi-open, non-clog design and capable of handling solids; overhung, single suction, and keyed and secured to shaft. 3. Pump and Motor Shaft: Stainless steel, with factory-sealed, grease-lubricated ball bearings and double mechanical seals. 4. Motor: Hermetically sealed, capacitor-start type; with built-in overload protection; lifting eye or lug; and three-conductor, waterproof power cable of length required and with grounding plug and cable-sealing assembly for connection at pump. a. Moisture-Sensing Probe: Internal moisture sensor and moisture alarm. COCA-COLA NORTH AMERICA JOB NO. 7588.20 ISSUED: 070910 LINE ADDITIONS NORTHAMPTON, MASSACHUSETTS PROCESS SEWERAGE LIFT STATION 221329 - 3 of 5 C. Guide-Rail Supports: Include the following for each sewage pump: 1. Guide Rails: Vertical pipes or structural members, made of stainless steel, attached to baseplate and basin sidewall or cover. 2. Baseplate: Stainless steel metal plate, attached to basin floor, supporting guide rails and stationary elbow. 3. Pump Yoke: Motor-mounted or casing-mounted yokes or other attachments for aligning pump during connection of flanges. 4. Movable Elbow: Pump discharge-elbow fitting with flange, seal, and positioning device. 5. Stationary Elbow: Fixed discharge-elbow fitting with flange that mates to movable-elbow flange and support attached to baseplate. 6. Lifting Cable: Stainless steel; attached to pump and cover at hatch. D. Pump Discharge Piping: Factory or field fabricated, Type 304 stainless steel. E. Controls: Provide a wall mounted NEMA 4X stainless steel enclosure control panel. Provide NEMA rated starters for lift station pumps. Provide controls to sequence pumps with inputs from four (4) mechanical float switches, one (1) horn alarm, and one (1) flashing light alarm. Provide contact for an additional remote alarm to be added later. Provide five (5) mechanical float switches in NEMA 250, Type 6 enclosures. Provide float guide and mounting rod. F. Field Wiring: Field wiring to be provided as described in Division 26. 2.02 SEWAGE PUMP BASINS A. Description: Class III reinforced precast concrete sections as indicated on the drawings. B. Coatings: Provide Raven 405, Solvent-Free Ultra High-Build Epoxy System to the sides and bottom of the pump basin to a dry film thickness of 125 mils. PART 3 - EXECUTION 3.01 EXAMINATION A. Inspect location for lift station to ensure that existing conditions allow installation as required. Report any conditions that inhibit proper and correct installation. 1.
