Energy aspects must comply the MA stretch energy code. (appendix 120AA) Window must Energy Star standards (U- .30) Air sealing must meet the Energy Star thermal bypass checklist. Windows in hazardous locations must be tempered. Block foundation must have vertical #4 bars 48” O.C. minimum. Anchor bolts must be grouted in solid, bolt location may require a wider sill plate for proper attachment. Crawl space foam insulation requires an ignition barrier per R316.5.4.
