Architects/Robert W. Hall to verify vent size; alternate configuration at first
floor to extend to back of building in soffit along wall common to stair hall.
• Bath Venting — Alternate horizontal/lateral venting allowed, 4" flex duct not
approved. Robert W. !-fall to confirm size/configuration.
Boilers — Combustion/make-up air as installed in townhouse 1 and 2 not
approved. Vent pipe to allow for 2" clearance to combustibles, Robert W.
Hall investigating alternate venting layout laterally between joists to
sidewall in lieu of vertical installation. Combustion air, to changed to
lateral/or vertical installed tight to party wall framing — Robert W. Hall to
offer final layout. Submit vent pipe and termination shop drawings.
• Hot Water Heater Venting — In order to avoid extended vertical vent at
back side of building, change in water heater to power vent, with revised
unit configuration —Carlson & Schmitt Architects/Robert W Hall to advise.
• General Note — Coordination of all trades critical to minimize
soffits/intrusions to finish space. All questions/conflicts to be reviewed
with architect/engineering team before installation.

pad to be installed in units — Carlson & Schmitt Architects to obtain
additional samples and layout color boards. Common area — upgrade to
direct glue, maybe add 1/4' underlayment if required.

replacement. Northampton Building Inspector and Engineering Design
Associates to confirm scope of required replacement.
• Desrosiers has outlined the scope of work and is generating budget
numbers.

installation. Carlson & Schmitt Architects/Robert W. Hall to review with
Fire Chief and advise.

• Telephone Service — Verizon has located pole at north east end of
building, south of sidewalk.
• Fire Protection — Proceeding ahead of approved shop drawings. Piping in
attic is not endorsed by design team, and pipe (in townhouses) near rear
rafters is too tight to rafters to allow for suggested insulation levels.
Coordination with mechanical venting is not complete: tie-in with probable
soffit at second floor to be reviewed. Any/all work installed is at
contractor's risk,
