Date �� S pplicant's Signature r PICT 9 �_w 3 r F)a., 1 !r � I� DECISION OF THE ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS 1� The Zoning Board of Appeals for the City of Northampton met on September, 2, 1981 and voted unanimously to &rant the petition of las and LindaKopf for a special permit to construct a solar greenhouse to be attached to their III home at 20 Stearns Court. Based upon the evidence presented to the Board, the Board made the follow- ing findings in regard to the special permit: 1. The present structure to which the addition is being sought is in violation of the setback requirements of the Zoning Ordinance, and is, therefore, a pre-existing, non-conforming (ff structure. (j 2. Section 9.3 of the Zoning Ordinance allows for the extension of a pre-existing, non-conforming structure after a finding by the Zoning Board of Appeals that the extension will not y be substantially more detrimental than the previous use. 3. The proposed use, although violating the setback requirements slightly more than at present, will not be substantially more detrimental than the previous use because the home will remain a single family dwelling, and also because its placement on ithe lot will have no impact on the surrounding properties.
