Dear Sandra,
We have received a complaint about the sign displayed next to the sidewalk at your business on
Prospect Street in Northampton.
Upon investigation, it seems that you are displaying a small sign attached to a wheeled object.
The object is placed on city property between the sidewalk and the street during the day and moved
back when the restaurant closes.
I've included the city's zoning regulations regarding signs. Your business is in a residential zone
(URB). The number and types of signs allowed in residential zones are closely regulated. A sign of that
sort is not allowed. Please do not continue to display the sign.
The object itself, without an associated sign, can be displayed as an art object, as long as it is
not on city property.
