Dear Mr. Kelly:
We have received a complaint that your horses were today wondering loose in the
neighborhood. The City of Northampton Zoning ordinance, section 5.3, paragraph D, requires
that there be adequate fencing to contain all farm animals. I have enclosed a copy of the
pertinent regulations.
Please insure that your horses are securely fenced, unless they are being used or supervised
under the control of a person.
Should this type of incident happen again, I will issue a Notice of Violation of City Ordinances.
Penalties for such violations of city ordinances may upon conviction be affixed in an amount
not to exceed one hundred dollars ($100.00) for each offense. Each day or portion of a day,
that any violation is allowed to continue shall constitute a separate offense.
