08-021 (24) City of Northampton July 9, 2003 Page 2 3 . Erection of the Butler preengineered metal building system is continuing. All structural steel columns, beams, wall girts and roof purlins to support the roof structure have now been erected and bolted in place. All structural steel columns, beams and bar joists to support the second floor have also now been erected and bolted in place. Installa- tion of the metal decking to support the second floor concrete slab is approximately 50% complete. Welding of steel bar joists, horizontal bracing and metal decking is continuing in preparation for pouring the second floor concrete slab. Installation of the stainless steel interior drain at the roofline on the North side of the building is continuing. Construction of the masonry elevator shaft enclosure along with steel inserts and solid masonry support for elevator rail framing has now been completed. Erection of steel studs and framing to support the exterior building wall and window system along the street front (East) side of the building is ongoing and nearing completion. No other exterior building wall framing or finish system has begun at this time. No other interior building construction has begun at this time. 4 . At the exterior of the Southeast corner of the new building, installation of the precast concrete transformer pad and secondary electrical conduit from the pad into the building has been completed. No primary electrical conduit has been installed at this time and no electrical service wiring has been pulled. No other site utility construction has been completed at this time. Site work operations are continuing. As previously reported, all clearing and grading for the new building and parking lot area has been completed. Installation of the storm drainage piping at the base of the embankment along the West property line is continuing along with washed stone backfill . At the Northwest corner of the site, re- grading of the embankment along with installation of stone embankment stabilization is continuing with drainage pipe installation to stabilize ground water leaching through the embankment. Construction of the split faced masonry landscape retaining wall at the North property line has been completed, however, installation of a similar retaining wall at the South property line has not yet begun. 2 . As previously reported, installation of all reinforced concrete footings, foundation walls, column piers and the elevator shaft for the new building has been completed and backfilled up to grade. Prior to backfill, styrofoam insulation has been placed on the interior face of all exposed perimeter foundation walls . All under slab plumbing below the interlor slab on grade has been installed and stubbed up above finished slab level . Installation of under slab electrical conduit is continuing.
