RE: New Building for Paradise Realty Partners
766 North King Street, Northampton, MA
Construction Report No. 2
Gentlemen:
Since my last report on May 5, 2003, the following construction
has been completed and except as noted found to be in compliance
with applicable codes and construction documents for this
project :
1 . As previously reported, all site clearing and rough grading
for the new building and parking lot area has been
completed. Excavation and grading of the embankment at the
rear of the site is also nearly complete at this time. At
the northwest corner of the site, a method of stabilization
for the embankment is being designed due to the slope of
the embankment . It is my understanding that the site
engineer is evaluating various stabilization methods .
All reinforced concrete footings, foundation walls and
column piers for the new building have now been poured and
backfilled approximately up to grade. Styrofoam insulation
has been placed on the interior side of all exposed
perimeter foundation walls prior co backfill. All anchor
bolts appear to be properly placed at column piers in
preparation for structural steel erection. On the interior
of the new building, the concrete base and a portion of the
perimeter foundation walls for the elevator shaft have also
now been poured. The site foreman has verified that all
bottom of footing areas where clay material was encountered
were undercut and a minimum of 6" gravel fill was installed
and compacted up to bottom of footing level . It is
anticipated that all reinforced concrete foundation work
for the new building will be completed within the next
week. No portions of the interior reinforced concrete slab
on grade have been poured at this time.
