RE: 47 East Center Street
Dear Mr. Olander,
I have been trying to sort out the legalities concerning the lack
of a Certificate of Inspection for the referenced location. As I
stated before to you I thought that Frank had taken care of this,
since it was not I will handle the matter in the following manner:
1. I would like you to schedule with our office a time in the very
near future for myself to make a site inspection with you to go
over the building. Upon completion of this inspection I will make
a determination as to what if any other inspections will be
required.
2 . If a determination has been made that further inspections will
not be required Article 119 . 3 of 780CMR states". . upon written
request from the owner of an existing building or structure, a
certificate of use and occupancy shall be issued, provided there
are no violations of law or orders of the building official
pending, and it is established after inspection and investigation
that the alleged use of the building or structure has heretofore
existed. "
3 . If a determination has been made for further inspections,
plumbing or electrical then those individual inspectors will have
to be contacted and arrangments made to satisfy their requirements.
The only way in the future that I can see a way of issuing a
Certificate of Inspection for buildings that do not have one will
be on a case by case basis. I apologize that this has taken so long
to resolve.
