Kitchen Cabinets :
We will install Homecrest kitchen cabinets as per plan. Hickory wood, Choice of available stain(s).
Dover door style with a reversed raised center panel.
Countertops :
We will install a custom beveled edge counter top,with 4" backsplash,standard laminates and colors.
Interior trim:
We will case out new pantry door with 1x5 primed and fmgered jointed pine.
We will install 1/4" unfinished birch wainscoting to kitchen walls 36" high+-with#8455 pine molding and
#8144 pine cap. We will install a 1x6 primed and fmgered jointed pine baseboard to the kitchen and
dining room areas as needed.
We will install(3)24" deep plywood shelve and(3) 1x12 shelves to the pantry closet area.
Flooring wood:
Furnish and install the dining room with 2 '/4" first grade maple flooring,sand and fmish with three coats
of floor finish. Sand and fmish the existing kitchen wood floors, apply three coats of floor fmish.
Appliances: (Owner Supplied)
We will install a stove, dishwasher and refrigerator to the kitchen area.
Venting: (Hood Allowance $120)
We will supply and install a 30" hood to the upper cabinet above the stove.
We will vent the hood through the upper cabinet and connect to the 4" installed chimney pipe.
We propose to furnish the material and labor necessary for the completion of the above stated work for
the sum of:
Sixteen Thousand Six Hundred & Sixty Seven Dollars $16,667.00
Payment as follows:
$5,555.00 upon start. (Demolition)
$5,555.00 upon completion of kitchen cabinets installed.
$5,557.00 upon completion of Proposal. (Final Inspection)
All work to be completed in a workmanlike manner according to standard practices.
Any alterations or deviations from the above specifications involving extra cost,
Will be executed only upon written orders in the form of a change order, and will become an extra charge
over and above the estimate.
$40 per hour and 15% above material cost will be billed for the extras and credits.
All agreements contingent upon strikes accidents or delays beyond our control. Owner to carry fire
tornado and other necessary insurance. A certificate of workman's comp. insurance,liability insurance,

HOME OWNER EXEMPTION ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
The State of Massachusetts allows the homeowner the right under 780CMR 108.3.4 to act as his/her
construction supervisor. The state defines "Homeowner" as, " Person(s) who owns a parcel on which
he/she resides or intends to be, a one or two family dwelling, attached or detached structures
accessory to such use and/or farm structures. A person who constructs more than one home in a two-
year period shall not be considered a home owner."
The building department for the City of Northampton wants any person(s)who seek to use the home
owner exemption, to act as their own construction supervisor, to be aware that by doing so you
become responsible for compliance with state building codes and regulations. The inspection
process requires that the building department be called to inspect work at various stages, which include
foundation/footings (before backfill), sonotube holes (before pour), a rough building inspection
(before work is concealed), insulation inspection (if required) and a final building inspection.
The building department requires these inspections before the work is concealed, failure to secure
these inspections can result in failure to obtain a certificate of occupancy until the work can be
inspected.
If the homeowner hires other trades to perform work(electrical, plumbing & gas) the homeowner will be
responsible to make sure that the trades hired secure their proper permits in conjunction to the building
permit issued, and that they get their required inspections. Failure of the individual trades to secure
the permits and inspections as required can DELAY the project until such time as the proper permits
and inspections are made
