Dear Mr, Hanley:
In regard to our conversation on Thursday, March 29 I have investigated the change you requested to
two corridor egress doors. According to Mass Building Code 6 Edition the type of installation of security
locking arrangements planned are allowed in your facility.
Sections 1017.4.1.3 and 1017.4.5 regarding access controlled egress doors states that activation of the fire
protective signaling device shall automatically unlock the doors and the doors shall remain unlocked until
the fire protective signaling system has been reset.
If you have any further questions please call me at 587 -1239.
Sincerely,
Stanley Szewczyk
Building Inspector
