Dear Ms. Eastman,
I have reviewed the permit documents for you home and performed an inspection for the
roofing /siding permit. 1 discovered a lifted skylight flashing during the inspection and have asked the
roofing contractor to refasten it.
examined the existing attic venting and in my opinion the ridge and gable venting meets the
code requirements of 780CMR that where in enforcement at the time of construction.
However, it has come to my attention that there is a bathroom vent exhausting into the attic
which in not allowed, therefore you must have this vent exhausted directly to the exterior through a wall
or roof cap. This is required because of the moisture typically being exhausted from a bathroom, which
can have detrimental effects within the attic.
