Closed contact will activate local alarm indication including strobes, horns and bells. 4. Closed contract will send signal through local alarm panel to central station, central station will then notify fire department. DRY SPRINKLER SYSTEM System operates automatically upon the fusing of a single fire sprinkler. Operational Sequence: 1. The activation of a single sprinkler will reduce the air pressure in the piping. The drop in air pressure will allow the dry valve to open and initiate water flow into the system. 2. The loss of pressure in the system will provide an alarm to be transmitted. 3. Closed contact will activate local alarm indication including strobes, horns and bells. 4. Closed contract will send signal through local alarm panel to notify fire department. 5. The dry valve and all alarm components that would signal a water flow are new. FIRE ALARM SYSTEM 1. The building fire alarm system shall contain smoke detection, heat detection and manual pull stations. The system utilizes ADA compliant audio /visual annunciation to notify the occupants of an alarm condition.. The activation of any manual station, water flow switch or system automatic alarm initiating device shall automatically: a. Sound all audible devices throughout the building. Audible devices shall be wired to allow for silencing while maintaining visual device activation. b. Flash all visual signals throughout the building. c. Flash an alarm LED and sound an audible signal at the Fire Alarm Control Panel. Upon Acknowledgement the alarm LED shall light steadily and the audible shall silence. Subsequent alarms shall re- initiate this sequence. d. Initiate the transmission of an alarm signal to Fire Department via the Alarm contacts tied into the existing campus main fire alarm panel. e. Visually indicate the alarm initiating device and location via the FACP LED display. f. Flash the beacon at the building. g. Mechanical unit shut down h. All installations shall be in accordance with the Amherst Fire Department. 903.1.1 (1.c) TESTING CRITERIA Section 1— Testing Criteria Fire Protection Narrative Report Page - 5 Clarke School for Hearing & Speech Leeds School - Northampton, Ma.
