It would not be allowed as presented; the maximum square footage allowed for an accessory apartment is 900 sf and it is shown as 1,000. Also, a detatched accessory apartment must meet the setbacks for a principal structure (20 front and rear, 15 side). If the accessory apartment is attached to the barn, the barn would need to meet those setbacks and it doesn't. If the accessory apartment were 900 sf and if it were separated from the barn by 5' to make it a separate structure, it would only need a permit from the ZBA. As it is drawn, it would need a variance. Let me know if you want us to hold the application for new plans or send it back marked as needing a variance.
