These toilets are designed for the use of the parking attendant on duty and are not intended for public use. Since there is only one employee on duty at any given time, we feel that it is prudent to provide only one toilet. If the situation arises in the future where more than one employee will be working in the garage at one time, then the client understands that they may be obligated to install the second toilet. We hope this meets with your approval. Please call Hank Ricciuti or myself at our office if you have any questions. Thank you for your time regarding this matter. Sincerely, / 1444:: Timothy W. SUBJECT: Northampton Parking Garage """"'—^"" Dear Hank: This letter confirms our telephone conversation regarding the Massachusetts Electrical Code, Section 700 -10, requiring two hour fire separation of emergency system distribution equipment and feeders for the above referenced project. The emergency generator, automatic transfer switch and panelboard on the Ground Floor are located in a two hour rated room. The door between the Generator Room and the Main Electric Room is also two hour rated. This design provides two hour separation between the normal and emergency power sources. The lighting panels on the upper floors and the feeder which serves them are not enclosed in two hour rated rooms. These panelboards serve the Garage lighting, all of which is on the emergency power system. The decision to omit the two hour rooms on the upper levels was due to the absence of any "normal" power distribution on these levels from which the emergency system need be separated. This information is a summary of my discussions and the conclusions reached with Mr. Tim Whitney of your office during the design of the /7) Project. ' Should you have any questions, please feel free to call. Aquadro, Jr., I am enclosing a copy of a letter from Shooshanian Engineering Associates, Inc., which describes the emergency power system design for the Northampton Parking Garage. I believe the letter is self - explanatory and does indicate that the system is designed to meet the 2 hours rating requirements. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to call me.
