I am requesting that the permit be issued with the hope that a temporary Certificate of Occupancy be issued after the completion of the first phase so that the front portion of this building can be occupied while the second phase is being completed. The attached plan indicates the extent of the total renovation of Phase One only. Phase One Narrative: This phase will start immediately and should be completed in 2 -3 weeks. It has to be completed by Sept. 7, the start of school. All of the work to be completed in this time period is in the front section of the building. It involves removing some partitions and building new ones. There is some associated electrical work such as removing and installing receptacles and switches, moving a fire alarm strobe, and moving a thermostat. There is no HVAC or plumbing work required. The acoustical ceiling and flooring will require patching. Phase Two Narrative: This phase is in the final planning stages. Final plans should be available by mid - August. The construction duration should be 8 weeks. The work is confined to the middle and rear sections of the building. The work is more extensive than Phase One because not only is there similar basic partition construction, but also the construction of two new handicapped accessible bathrooms and the modification of existing duct work. New flooring and new acoustical tile ceilings will be installed. A new rear emergency exit will also be constructed. It is respectfully requested that at the completion of Phase One a temporary C.O. be issued and that the final be issued at the end of this project.
