renewal thereof, shall take effect until a copy of the decision
bearing the certification of the City Clerk that twenty days have
elapsed after the decision has been filed, or if such an appeal
has been filed that it has been dismissed or denied, is recorded
in the Hampshire County registry of Deeds or Land Court, as
applicable and indexed under the name of the owner of record or
is recorded and noted on the owner's certificate of title. The
fee for such recording or registering shall be paid by the owner
or applicant. It is the owner or applicant's responsibility to
pick up the certified decision from the City Clerk and record it
at the Registry of Deeds.
The Northampton Planning Board hereby certifies that a Special

At a meeting conducted on August 10, 1994, the Northampton
Planning Board unanimously voted 6:0 to grant the request of
Pride Properties, Inc. for a SITE PLAN SPECIAL PERMIT under the
provisions of Section 10.11 in the Northampton Zoning Ordinance,
to build an addition to a pre- existing non - conforming structure
at 228 Pleasant Street. Since the addition will conform to all
dimensional requirements of the Zoning Ordinance, no other zoning
relief is necessary.
Planning Board Members present and voting were: Chairman Andrew
Crystal, Joseph Beauregard, Nancy Duseau, Kenneth Jodrie, Mark
NeJame, and Daniel Yacuzzo.
In Granting the Special Permit, the Planning Board found:
1. The requested use for miscellaneous, professional and
business office and services is listed as an allowed use in
the District for which the application was made.
2. The requested use bears a positive relationship to public
convenience or welfare because the V.A. use is operated for
the direct benefit of community area residents who have
served in the U.S. Armed Forces and require treatment and /or
therapy. A program directed to helping this group is
patently positive for the public welfare. The site is
particularly convenient for the use, and accessibility by
.-- ---_public _transportation, private vehicle and pedestrian.
