THREE COUNTY FAIR CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT 2003 -1 REPLACE ROOF REAR OF GRANDSTAND SUMMARY The grandstand is the oldest structure on the fair grounds. It was moved to it present location in 1901 from the old North Street fair ground location. In the past three years the lower tiers of the grandstands have been completely rebuilt and seating rebuilt. The roof on the front of the grandstand was redone approximately 10 years ago and remains in good shape. This project calls for replacing the rear of the grandstand with red metal roofing that will match the existing color. Structurally the rafters and decking are sound. Only one layer of roofing is on the structure and purloins 2 ft on center will be applied over the existing roof. The metal roofing will be screwed to the purloins(lx3) in accordance with manufacturers recommendation. Labor will be supplied by Fair Maintenance personnel Two of whom are licensed roofers.
