Planned Use Plan to bring existing personal fitness training business into the home following the birth of my first baby (due any day now). The studio will take up roughly 1/4th of the first floor of the house, under 300 square feet of a roughly 2,500 square foot space. Clients will be seen individually, or occasionally in pairs, between the hours of 6am and 10pm, up to 7 days a week. Personal training will not generate any noise, increased traffic, smells, or inconvenience of any kind to neighbors. My neighbors are in full support. If granted permission to operate my business out of my home, I would see a maximum of 9 clients a day, each for one hour. Detailed Project Information Finding Description: 1. The front entrance of my home, which is also the future entrance to the studio, is at the curb, and easily accessible by a path from the street. 2. It is clear on the property where the road stops and the footpath begins. 3. The nature of the business insures a very limited need for parking. There is parking available in the rear of my home if the need arises. Special Permit Description: 1. The studio will be entirely self-contained. 2. It will add 1-2 cars an hour to traffic on the street, no more. 3. It will not change the outward appearance of our home at all. 4. It will promote better health for all of Northampton, and be a source of joy and community pride to other female business owners in the area, especially mothers. 5. There will be no extra draw on city resources. 6. It will have no impact on city planning objectives. 7. If approved, it will meet all zoning requirements. Onsite Traffic Description: The project would only increase traffic on Vernon Street, a street with no parking or traffic concerns, by 1-2 vehicles per hour. There will be no conflicts where traffic accesses my site. Offsite Traffic Description: As stated, the amount of traffic generated by my project project will be minimal and basically unnoticeable. 1-2 cars an hour. Site Plan Description: I believe the only relevant item to this project is a sign. I plan to erect a small sign in the front yard stating the name and nature of the business, the phone number, street address, and web address.
