COVID-19 MANDATORY POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
ZERO TOLERANCE FOR SICK WORKERS REPORTING TO WORK – Our worker’s have been informed that any
symptoms including Fever, Cough, Sore Throat or Shortness of Breath is to be reported to the Supervisor and
is to leave the job site immediately and go home or to their doctor.
The Supervisors will be available before shift for the employees to self-certify that they have no symptoms or
have been around someone with the symptoms. Nor have they been asked to self-quarantine.
Any employee asked to leave or take time off because they feel sick will need a doctor’s note to return to
work.
GENERAL ON-THE-JOB PROCEDURES TO PREVENT EXPOSURE & LIMIT TRANSMISSION OF THE VIRUS- Workers have
been told no hand shaking, no touching of any kind. They have been supplied gloves, masks, eye protection
and hand sanitizer and are asked to clean hands often. All tools are to be wiped clean twice a day, at lunch and
the end of the day, as well as any common areas and gloves are required during the day.
There will be Porta-potty with hand sanitizer and if a hand washing station with soap, paper towels and lined
receptacles is necessary, as the amount of worker’s increase, we will accommodate that also. At first there will
be 1 Porta-potty and as more crews need to be on site there will be a calculation done to decide if more need
and they will then be added. As there are daily routines to be followed, the decision of a hand washing station
will be part of that routine. The Porta-potty(s) will be cleaned 4 times a day as recommended.
The main gate and the common areas of the site trailer will be cleaned and disinfected at least twice a day.
Any foreman’s meeting will be held outside unless plans need to be reviewed, at which time the foreman and
the General Contractor personnel will be the only people allowed in the trailer at the same time. A posting will
be on the trailer stating this policy.
Each employee is responsible for getting themselves to work individually. No car pooling allowed as well as
sharing of any food or water. All employees are required to clean up after themselves.
Each Sub-Contractor will be responsible for electronically submitting their employee’s self-certifications to us
daily so we may submit them weekly to the Health Director.
A copy of the Policies & Procedures supplied to us by the City of Northampton Board of Health
has been given to each individual employee and they are required to keep it on their person
while working.
