Pursuant to our earlier telephone conversation, this is to confirm there were a total) of 247 significant trees that were
20" IDIBII I or greater that were removed, As 1I indicated previously, we cannot provide a breakdown of the trees 20" or
greater with respect to size so we estimated 28" If. BI I as the average diameter of alI the 247 significant trees. We
understand the mitigation inch equivalent would be calculated as 247x28/2:::::3,458 inch.
We allso understand that any trees replanted on site would The deducted from the above and total) mitigation cost
would be assessed at the eind of the pr9ject. lEven so, the mitigation cost equivalent is significant if we were to apply
the CUrrent City rate of $90/inch.
Given the significance of this issue, Steve Ondishin wilI be in Town on Wednesday afternoon Ipriior to the community
meeting, so we would be happy to meet with you and others as necessary to discuss this matter further.

So, 247 trees were removed, but you don't know how many were over 20". Of the larger ones the average was 28" DBH?
If that is the case, can you estimate how many were —28" vs those that fell below?

As you irecallll from the arborist report that was furnished with the previous application, that there were 247 tree most
of which were 1pine species that need to Ike removed for the 1project. You allso requested in a previous emaH
associated with your review of the previous application a breakdown in size of significant trees rernoved. 1I
contacted our forester in attempt to obtain this information but unfortunately a definite breakdown in size is inot
available just because of the vast number that was tabulated. He did indicate the average diameter of a11 trees 20"
and greater was approximately 28" DBI I. A11 of the trees that were tabulated in the foresters report were (living

FIlease Ilea us know next steps how to deterrnine a mutually agreed payment in (lieu of mitigation planting,

Thanks Mike. The significant tree ordinance does stipulate that it is in effect from 12 months prior to any site plan
being pulled on a property. So for this piece (not the large scale PV section), it makes no difference who cut the trees.
We will need the calculation of DBH to determine replacement requirements.

Mike
I didn't see the tree inventory of trees over 20" dbh that would be coming down for this project. Can you please
identify if there are any trees over 20" DBH. CED will be responsible for tree replacement in accordance with 12.3
