Dear Mr. Dennis:
The Architectural Access Board is in receipt of your letter relative
to the applicability of our regulations to employee toilets.
Please be advised that if the toilets are strictly "employee only" and
never available to the public, (i.e. customers, clients, etc.) they are
not required to comply with the present regulations of this Board.
You should be aware however, that the lack of jurisdiction by this
Board does not relieve you from compliance with any other state or
federal laws relative to employment of disabled persons.
Sinc if yours,

RE: MASTERS' PROJECT
4 Main Street
On September 6 , 1990 , I contacted Mr. Louis Vesco of the State Board
of Plumbing and Gas Fi+±ing Inspectors in Boston. I asked Mrs Vesco
about the fee and procedure for obtaining a Plumbing Code Variance
for the Tom Masters ' Project at 4 Main Street. The variance ould
allow construction/occupancy of a building with only one toil t.
Mr. Vesco asked what the square footage of the project was . I
informed him that the addition totaled 460 square feet.
Mr. Vesco informed me that, because the addition was less than 1 , 000
square feet in size, one toilet was adequate, as long as the addition
was not to be part of a medical facility.
He said, therefore, no variance was required.
Mr. Vesco added that if there were any questions concerning t1iis
matter they should be directed to him.
Thank you for your assistance.
