RE: 8 Villone Drive
Dear Sirs,
The property located at 8 Villone Drive experienced a electrical
fire on February 27, 1995. The electrician that you hired separated the
fire damaged wire and repaired the damage. This work was inspected by
our electrical inspector and approved, however, there continues to be a
problem with the empty apartments in the basement. On May 28, 1993 there
was a meeting in our office attended by Mr. Epstein, Mr. Margolis and the
Building Commissioner for the City Frank X. Sienkiewicz. At this meeting
the violations at 8 Villone Drive and how they could be corrected were
discussed. Frank Sienkiewicz stated in the meeting that the apartments
must be made legal or vacated and the electric & plumbing removed and the
area made safe. The apartments were vacated within thirty (30) days.
The apartments in the basement were constructed with no building per-
mit or inspections, the wiring was done with no permit or inspections the
plumbing was also done with no permit or inspections. The fire on Feb. 27
1995 illustrates the danger of construction being done without proper per-
mits or inspections. The electric service in the downstairs apartments
must be removed and separated from the 1st floor apartments and all plumb-
ing and gas in the downstairs apartments removed and sealed air tight.
Sincerely,
,*42.01(-.
