Will respond K Bridges 413.250.9433 1/12/22 JF met with Karen Bridges, one of the representatives of the owners at the property. They now want to be sure that there is no curb at the existing gravel driveway area. The owners will not need a curb cut in front of the garage, just where the gravel drive is located adjacent to the garage. JF will ask W. Feiden where the curb cut(s) are proposed to be, and if the design can accommodate a curb cut to the gravel drive. JF will then report back to K. Bridges by phone and/or email. Physical meeting at property 1/13/22 1/28/22 JF emailed W Feiden with owner issues/ questions. W Feiden forwarded to TEC (Designer) by email Email 2/1/22 V Kevin Dandrade of TEC (Designer) responded by email (“red”). JF emailed Karen Bridges to provide designer’s response. 34 Parsons Street, E5, TE8. I emailed you previously on this. Karen Bridges, one of the representatives of the owners met with me and they now want to be sure that there is no curb at the existing gravel driveway area. The owners will not need a curb cut in front of the garage, just where the gravel drive is located adjacent to the garage. I cannot tell from the plan where the curb cut(s) are proposed to be. Due to the elevation of the garage doorways that face Parsons Street and the existing gutter line elevation in the street, we need to propose a curb cut anyway to avoid the potential to impound water behind a taller curb/sidewalk. This way the area will freely drain toward the roadway like it does today. Physical meeting at property 1/13/22 1/28/22 JF emailed W Feiden with owner issues/ questions. W Feiden forwarded to TEC (Designer) by email Email 2/1/22 Kevin Dandrade of TEC (Designer) responded by email (“red”). JF forwarded response to D Gillette by email. 24 Parsons Street, E7, TE10. Dana Gillette would like to know how the concrete curbing/retaining wall adjacent to her hedges, which looks to be right along the common line of the E & TE is being handled during construction. She would also like to know the plan for the bottom stair(s) to the porch, which are either in the TE area or on the line of the E & TE. We are proposing a new vertical granite back-curb that will provide a similar feature between the back of the proposed sidewalk and the private landscape area behind it. We specify the removal of the hedge because it will be difficult to excavate the existing concrete curb and replace it otherwise. We are not proposing any modifications to the lowest stair; the proposed features will come up to meet it. The Zinns are concerned that some natural rocks they have created a rock garden with, will have to be moved during construction. They would like the same natural rocks re- placed as near as possible to where they currently are. So, the contractor would have to stack and store the existing natural rocks, and then place them back after the construction work is complete. The rock garden is just east of the driveway in the TE area. I am familiar with like-kind improvements installed when the property owner's land is disturbed, but I did not have the answer to whether the contractors can move, stack, and re-place down these rocks on private property. JF to obtain answer to this issue from Wayne Feiden and report back via phone or email. Physical meeting 1/13/22 1/28/22 JF emailed W Feiden with owner issues. W Feiden forwarded email to TEC (Designer) Email 2/1/22 Kevin Dardane of TEC (Designer) provided response (“red”). JF forwarded to Megan Zinn by email. 72 Cherry Street, E8, TE11. Megan and Fred Zinn are concerned that some natural rocks they have created a rock garden with, will have to be moved during construction. I am familiar with like-kind improvements installed when the property owner's land is disturbed, but I did not have the answer to whether the contractors can move, stack, and re-place down these rocks on private property. We can specify that the field stones for the short wall be stacked on-site near the project limits for the property owner to restack. Based on our work limits near the ADA ramp that crosses Cherry Street, there will be about 9 feet of wall affected. The work limits end approximately 17 feet east of the owner’s Cherry Street walkway. The compensation for the temporary easement should account for those temporary impacts.
