RE: Request for Determination of Applicability/
Proposed Shop expansion at my Residence
Dear Members of the Conservation Committee,
I have filed a Request for Determination of Applicability because a Building Permit filed by my
Contractor is on hold until I receive permission to proceed from your Commission. I must assume that I
will receive either a Determination of Non-Applicability of the Wetlands and Riverfront Regulations for
the proposed work to expand my shop space under existing house structure, or not.
I am hoping that you may see that my yard and my neighbor’s yard are fully stabilized with vegetation
including multiple established trees between my project and the Mill River, and that my small project
will have no detrimental impact on the precious ecosystem and riverfront area. I pride myself on
mowing my back yard as infrequently as possible to encourage a more diverse ecosystem adjacent to
the incredible river and wildlife corridor.
I have resided in this residence for 28 years, have had a 387 square-foot shop space there during that
time, and am hoping to expand it purely for my own comfort and convenience.
