51 West Farms Rd-Enforcement Urszula Aseltine May 4, 2021 85 Loudville Road Northampton,Ma. 01060 Re: 51 West Farms Road Dear Ms. Aseltine, In response to several complaints, I visited the property owned by you located at 51 West Farms Road (Parcel ID# 35-009). There has been some regrading of the bank, which appears to be a makeshift driveway, and there are several vehicles parked at the top of the bank, including a “Camper” type trailer. It also appears that there may be someone living in said trailer, which is a violation of the City of Northampton Zoning Ordinances. As this is “undevelopable” land, all of these activities are considered illegal uses. The storage of vehicles, registered or otherwise, is not an allowed use unless it is “Accessory” to a dwelling, in residential zones. Camping is not allowed either unless it is in a campground, which the city does not allow. Due to these violations, I hereby order all of the vehicles removed from the property within 30 days to avoid further action from the city, up to and including fines and/or court appearances. 350-4.9 Prosecution of Violation  If the notice of violation and order is not complied with promptly, the Building Commissioner, upon written request to the City Solicitor, shall have available the services of the City Solicitor in instituting the appropriate action or proceeding at law or in equity to prevent any unlawful action, use or condition and to restrain, correct or abate such violation. If the Building Commissioner shall refuse or fail to so request the services of the City Solicitor, the City Council may require him to do so. Delay by the Building Commissioner in instituting said proceedings shall not be imputed to the City of Northampton. Penalties for violations may, upon conviction, be affixed in an amount not to exceed $300 for each offense. Each day or portion of a day, that any violation is allowed to continue shall constitute a separate offense. If you are aggrieved by this decision, you have the right to appeal to the Zoning Board of Appeals. Sincerely, Jonathan S. Flagg Building Commissioner Zoning Enforcement Officer City of Northampton
