NOTES
1.UTILITY SERVICES ARE SHOWN SCHEMATICALLY. SEWAGE DRAIN FIELDS ARE SHOWN SCHEMATICALLY
AT PERC TEST LOCATIONS.
2.EACH NEW WATER SERVICE TAP SPLITS INTO INDIVIDUAL SERVICE LINES WITH INDIVIDUAL CURB
STOPS AT THE PROPERTY LINE. INSTALLATION OF TAP, MANIFOLD AND CURB STOPS SHALL OCCUR AT
ONE TIME. INDIVIDUAL SERVICE LINES MAY BE CONNECTED TO THE CURB STOPS AT A LATER TIME.
3.ALL WATER SERVICE CONNECTIONS SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED TO THE STANDARDS OF THE
NORTHAMPTON DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS.
4.PROPOSED WATER SERVICE LINES ARE 1.5" DIAMETER. REDUCE TO 1" AT FOUNDATION WALL. NO
FIXTURES WILL BE BASED ABOVE ELEVATION 320.
5.THIS PLAN IS A PARTIAL GRADING PLAN FOR THE PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT REPRESENTING THE
MINIMUM GRADING REQUIRED TO DEVELOP THE PROPOSED STORMWATER MANAGEMENT SYSTEM.
IT MAY BE NECESSARY FOR THE DEVELOPER TO PROVIDE SUPPLEMENTAL GRADING IN ORDER TO
CREATE A BUILDABLE LOT.
6.CONSTRUCTION PHASING: CONSTRUCTION SHALL BEGIN WITH LOT 2. ALL EXISTING IMPERVIOUS
AREA WITHIN LOT 2 SHALL BE REMOVED PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION OF NEW IMPERVIOUS AREA ON
OTHER LOTS. THEREAFTER LOT DEVELOPMENT MAY PROCEED IN ANY ORDER AS LONG AS EXISTING
IMPERVIOUS AREAS IN EACH LOT (ROADS, GOLF CART PATHS AND BUILDINGS) ARE REMOVED PRIOR
TO NEW IMPERVIOUS CONSTRUCTION.
7.THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ARRANGE FOR A GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER TO BE PRESENT TO OBSERVE
CONSTRUCTION OF STEEP SLOPES, AND SHALL IMPLEMENT THE ENGINEER'S RECOMMENDATIONS TO
ENSURE SLOPE STABILITY THROUGHOUT THE CONSTRUCTION PERIOD.
8.ALL DISTURBED SLOPES OVER 3H:1V SHALL BE RESTORED AND STABILIZED WITH DOUBLE NET
STRAW/COCONUT BIODEGRADABLE ROLLED EROSION CONTROL PRODUCT (ECSC-2B) OR EQUAL AND

2.THE EROSION CONTROL MIX USED IN THE FILTER BERMS SHALL BE A WELL-GRADED
MIXTURE OF PARTICLE SIZES, MAY CONTAIN ROCKS LESS THAN 4 IN DIAMETER, STUMP
GRINDINGS, SHREDDED OR COMPOSED BARK, OR ACCEPTABLE MANUFACTURED
PRODUCTS, AND SHALL BE FREE OF REFUSE AND PHYSICAL CONTAMINANTS, AND
MATERIAL TOXIC TO PLAN GROWTH. IT SHALL MEET THE FOLLOWING STANDARDS:
A.THE ORGANIC CONTENT SHALL BE 80-100% BY DRY WEIGHT.
B.PARTICLE SIZE BY WEIGHT SHALL BE 100% PASSING A 6" SCREEN AND 70-85%
PASSING A 0.75" SCREEN.
C.THE ORGANIC PORTION SHALL BE FIBROUS AND ELONGATED.
D.LARGE PORTIONS OF SILTS, CLAYS, OR FINE SANDS SHALL NOT BE INCLUDED IN THE

PRESENT THE MOST PRACTICAL AND EFFECTIVE LOCATIONS FOR ORGANIC FILTER
BERMS. OTHER BMPS SHOULD BE USED AT LOW POINTS OF CONCENTRATED RUNOFF,
BELOW CULVERT OUTLET APRONS, AROUND CATCH BASINS AND AT THE BOTTOM OF
STEEP PERIMETER SLOPES THAT HAVE A LARGE CONTRIBUTING AREA.
