Project Description      Project Description Summary Overview: The City of Northampton (“the City”) requests $250,000 in Housing Choice Grant (HCG) funds to for the infrastructure necessary to develop 25 affordable housing units at two City sites at the former Northampton State Hospital:  23 Laurel Street (22 family rental units planned on 1.62 acre parcel)  278 Burts Pit Road (3 homeownership units planned on 1.72 acre parcel) HCG funds will ready both sites for construction of new affordable housing by completing:  Design and Engineering: water, sewer, stormwater and sidewalk design, survey, legal, hydrant flow, soil tests, geotechnical, Phase I Environmental Site Assessment update, wetlands documentation, and arborist assessment.  Construction and demolition: house removal, water, sewer, stormwater, sidewalk, curbs, site clearance, and construction administration.
