Dear Charles and Diana,
The City of Northampton owns 1,306 square feet in your backyard (Map ID 42-1129) that is surplus to City needs. We would be happy to donate it to you if you were interested. Owning an
extra 13’ is not dramatic, but it gives you a little more private land and options, and probably adds a little value when you sell your home.
The only thing we would ask, so we are not getting a new liability when we donate land, is that if we ever have trees on the land that we retain that lean over your new property we would
not be expected to cut them.
