Panel 3Lighter, quicker, and cheaper
Some streets need big improvements, $1.1 million on Pleasant
Street in 2017, $6 million on Main Street in 2025, but some
light, quick, and cheap thing work.
Baby parks, parklets, as small as 150 square feet, permanent
or seasonal, provide a respite and increase walking.
Pedestrian/bicycle facilities are almost always less expensive
per person mile traveled than road, and sometimes as small as
a can of paint or a planter box.
The Hot Chocolate Run, Holiday Stroll and events that activate
the street promoting exercise and helping us realize how walk-
able our city is.
