Hi Carolyn,
I wanted to let you know that we will be removing the public shade tree in the front of 24/26 Dewey Court. The tree suffered significant canopy damage during the spring & summer of 2020 during two wind
loading events. The damage has cause the tree to be out of balance and effectively negated the cabling system between leaders in the canopy.
I also suspect that the tree is suffering from a quick moving fungal pathogen called verticillium wilt. The pathogen effects the water conducting vascular system, thus causing the plant cells to ‘plug’ themselves.
The disease is fast moving and quickly adds to the trees overall decline and canopy tip die back.
I have included photos below for you records.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Best,
Rich
