Attn: Wayne Feiden
Repair Howard tower clock at First Churches of Northampton,
as discussed with Pastor Todd Weir and Wayne Feiden.
Scope of work:
Restore the time train only to working order,
including removing time train parts from tower,
cleaning and repairing as necessary. Original
paint on movement frames will be carefully
preserved. Reinstall parts, set running. Work
will include installing new electric motor to
power the movement. Clock motor (and
controller, if needed) to be supplied by others.
Remove and restore transmission gears and
shafts at dial level. This includes removing
gears, housings, and iron shafts from tower, and
cleaning and de-rusting as necessary. Steel shafts
and iron housings will be primed and painted
(with two-part black epoxy paint). Brass gears
will be cleaned, polished, and lacquered.
Parts will then be reinstalled when the clock is set
running. Hollow tin tubes will NOT be removed and
painted, but left in place (these were not painted
originally). Non-removable yokes at their ends will
be cleaned in place. Motion works on dials will
not be removed either, but cleaned in place and
properly lubricated.
Total for proposed work- $9,950.00
- Thank you -
