NORTHAMPTON ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS DECISION
Dear Neighbor,
On February 12, 2004 The Northampton Zoning Board of Appeals authorized Zoning Administrator granted the
Finding pertaining to the expansion of 49 -51 Bridge Road, Florence, MA, map 16B -17. The decison was filed
with the City Clerk of Northampton on February 20, 2004.
The Findings of the Board Administrator under section 9.3 for an expansion of a pre - existing non - conforming side
yard setback were as follows:
1. The Administrator found that the expansion would not be substantially more detrimental to the neighborhood
than the existing non - conforming structure because the addition will be further from the side property boundary
than the existing non - conforming structure.
2. The Administrator found that the addition would not extend any closer to any front, side or rear property
boundary than the current zoning allows and that the existing structure already extends. The current
non - conforming structure sits approxiamately 7' from the side property boundary and the additon will be located
approximately 8' from the propoerty boundary.
3. The Administrator also determined that this extension would not create any new violation of other zoning
provisions and does not require a sign.
An appeal of the decision of the Zoning Board may be made by any person aggrieved pursuant to MGL Chap. 40A,
Section 17 as amended, within twenty (20) [30 days for a residential finding] days after the date of the filing with
the City Clerk. Such appeal may be made to the Hampshire Superior Court with a certified copy of the appeal sent
to the City Clerk of the City of Northampton.
ank You,
Robert J. Brittain
