remaining scope-2019The scope of work that remains is
The regulated area is the Bassett Brook floodplain and buffer zone, and the banks of a few small streams that feed into Bassett Brook. All the regulated area lies within the 11 acre
Northampton CR land that is part of Lathrop's east campus. We are applying for permission to continue an invasives-removal project begun several years ago. What remains is:
Weed whacking Japanese stilt grass (because it's an annual, with seeds coming down the brook each year in flood season, it needs weed whacking every year to cut off the tops of the plants
before they set seed);
Cut-stump and foliar spray treatment for re-sprouted and new invasives, primarily Oriental bittersweet, Japanese barberry, bush honeysuckle, multiflora rose, and winged euonymus. By
now, due to our work in former years, these invasives are sparse, so it means plant-by-plant spot treatment by workers walking through the area.
