16A-020 Fairway Village Special Permit 1987-J
DECISION OF
NORTHAMPTON PLANNING BOARD
At a meeting held on May 28, 1987, the Planning Board of the City of
Northampton voted unanimously to grant the Special Permit request of
Fairway Village, Inc. (38 Strand Place, Southbridge, MA) for the purpose
of amending the site plan and altering the building designs to maximize the
number of end units at the Fairway Village Condominium Project loated off
of Spring Street, Leeds, Massachusetts. This Public Hearing was held in
accordance with the provisions of Chapter 40A, Section 11, M.G.L.
The findings were as follows:
A. The requested use is listed as a Special Permit in the district
for which application is made.
B. The requested use will bear a positive relationship to the
public convenience.
C. The requested use will not create undue traffic congestion or
unduly impair pedestrian safety.
D. The requested use will not overload any public water, drainage
or sewer system or any other municipal system to such an extent
that the requested use or any developed use in the immediate area
or in any other area of the City will be unduly subjected to
hazards affecting health, safety or the general welfare, provided
no buildings shall encroach upon the existing City easement for
water and sanitary and storm sewer.
E. No special regulations as set forth in Article XI apply.
F. The requested use will not unduly impair the integrity or
character of the district or adjoining zones, nor be detrimental
to the health, morals, or general welfare. The requested use is
in harmony with the general purpose and intent of the Ordinance.
