OLD BUSINESS
1.3 HVAC –
Decision as outlined in Dave Cody email of 1/14/2014 and Bruce C. reply of 1/17/2014.
Air source heat pump solution to be abandoned and gas furnace heater system with separate SEER
16 AC system to be installed
1.5 Fire Alarm and Security System –
Mike M. has forwarded a consolidated proposal to Dave.
Jack is concerned that it exceeds the requirement — see Bruce’s subsequent email to Mike and Jack
with plan to resolve the scope and then meet with Fire and Building Dept. officials.
Sep up this meeting ASAP
Bruce/Jack/
Dave
1.9 Porch decking –
Ensure the alignment of the deck tile pattern and the post spacing is aesthetically acceptable — i.e.
that the deck tile pattern is sufficiently “background” that it does not set up an aesthetic “challenge”
that needs to be responded to.
Bruce C.
4.1 Elevator — Platform lift requires a Variance approval to extend over 10 feet of travel. See email
exchange between Bruce, Mary-Lynn Miller, and Tom Costello (recently retired Technical Code
Coordinator assisting the Board of Elevator Regulations).
Dave noted that the time and expense of chasing a variance would come close to consuming the $5K
cost difference between the cab elevator and the platform lift — and we may fail with the Variance
request anyway.
Jack and Priscilla to decide whether to:
a. pursue a variance for a lift
b. install a cab elevator.
c. Install the shaft for an elevator and delay the cab installation
Jack and
Priscilla
4.2 Small changes to entry area first and second floors — Priscilla is finalizing some adjustments
to the partition layout and shelving — in process.
Priscilla Finn
5.4 Entry Porch elevation: Porch roof installed at 8’ 6” above entry slab level.
NEW BUSINESS
6.1 Sewer line routing — through the warehouse, overhead along the steel beam and turning down to
tie into the stack behind the A2Z employee bathroom. The pipe penetrates the existing CMU wall.
Bruce informs that this wall is NOT a use fire separation.
6.2 Toilet room hotwater heater — decision to use an independent instantaneous electric heater
6.3 Exterior parking light — Jack will remove the existing pole and light and substitute an LED
wallpack light fixture high on the east wall on the addition. This will do the illumination of the parking
area and be less glaring to the new deck.
Bruce to propose a fixture and have the distributor do a photometric analysis.
Dave will assume that the fixture will be no more than 500W — and likely less than 100W.
