OLD BUSINESS
1.3 HVAC –
Notes of Meeting with Chuck C. at C&H Thursday, Oct 31st. were reviewed. Chuck was unable to
attend the job meeting (as had been intended) but will have full pricing on the ASHP systems option
shortly. Dave to schedule a separate meeting to review Chuck’s pricing and proposal ASAP
Dave Cody
1.5 Fire Alarm and Security System –
Michael Monsanto (Redhawk) attended the meeting to understand the existing alarm system and to
propose how it can be augmented to cover additional security needs that J&P have for the A2Z
business. In addition Bruce asked for Redhawk’s assistance in “enhancing” the existing fire alarm
system pursuant to the project’s obligation under the BBRS ruling associated with the granting of the
variance application for a NFPA 13D fire suppression system.
Bruce C. follow up conversation with Michael:
Michael requested that J&P provide him with a copy of the most recent “test and inspect” report (from
Landry) for the present fire alarm system. With this in hand he will be able to better understand what
exists and how it can be enhanced
There is an existing burglar alarm panel with only 10 of its 48 monitoring portals taken (2 door and 8
existing smoke alarms). Michael is enquiring as to whether this panel can accept a flow switch relay
that would alert the central monitoring station when/if the sprinkler was activated.
Bruce will provide Michael with DWG files of the existing and new building

NEW BUSINESS
4.1 Elevator — Dave reported that he is changing supplier/contractors for this item. He is asking
Inclinator Company of America for a proposal expecting that they will have a better understanding of
the Mass Elevator Code, and be more responsive than the Nashville company he started with.
4.2 Small changes to entry area first and second floors — Priscilla is finalizing some adjustments
to the partition layout and shelving now that she can see how the entry space is developing.
Priscilla Finn
4.3 Merging new and existing roof shingles — Dave advised that contemporary asphalt shingle
products have a different “exposure” than those installed ten years ago. It is difficult to match without
compromising the warranties. The north roof plane is the only one affected. It was also noted that
trying to merge new with existing would create a permanent maintenance schedule problem.
J&P decide to ask Cody Const. for a change proposal to replace the existing shingles on the north roof
plane with new.
Dave Cody
4.4 Overlay wall frame construction — Bruce C. instructed Dave C. to construct the exterior (cheek)
wall of the overlaid roof — the wall that is supported on the existing wood framed roof — as a wood
framed wall rather than as a steel stud framed “3B” construction.
4.5 Detail 2/A5-1 — Agreed to add an additional piece of flashing over the length of the ledger, and to
reduce the ledger to a single whythe LVL stood 1 ¾” out from the wall — except where it cantilevers at
the east end, in which case the ledger is double for 48” back.
4.6 Deck south beam support posts — these to be shop fabricated and galvanized. They are to be
supported on (and anchored to) the double 2 x 8 rim joist.
